Dave Montgomery discusses Highland High winning both the Division 1 boys and girls championships at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state final at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Highland had senior Emma Baugh win the girls individual crown, covering the 5-kilometer layout in 18:46.8, leading five scorers in the top seven and all seven athletes placing among the first 15 finishers to prevail with 20 points. The Hawks had five scorers in the top 22 and all seven athletes finishing among the first 25 finishers in the boys competition to triumph with 43 points. It marked the third boys championship in program history, along with 2011 and 2019. Highland achieved back-to-back girls crowns.
