Highland junior Leo Daschbach placed second in the Division 1 boys final at the Arizona AIA Cross Country State Championships at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Daschbach, last year's champion, covered the 5-kilometer course in 16:07 to help Highland finish second overall by a 31-41 margin behind Desert Vista.
