Clara Jones, a junior at Campo Verde High, placed second at the Division 2 girls championship race at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state final at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Jones covered the 5-kilometer layout in 19:24.4 to help Campo Verde finish 12th overall with 331 points.
