Max Davis, a senior at Flagstaff High, took second in the Division 2 boys final at the Arizona AIA state championship meet at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. Davis covered the 5-kilometer course in 15:24.79 to help Flagstaff finished second overall with 92 points. The Eagles had their streak of five consecutive team championships halted by Gilbert, which prevailed with 77 points. Davis ran the second-fastest time overall, regardless of division.
