Alex Bland, a sophomore at Flagstaff High, won the Division 2 boys title by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 16:30.9 at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state championship meet at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Bland, who was not part of the Eagles' lineup at last year's state final, helped Flagstaff finish second overall as a team by a 109-121 margin against Millennium High.
